Edward Swenson
Piano restorer Edward Swenson graduated from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music
with a performance degree and a certificate in piano technology. After four years
of study in Austria and Italy, he received a Master's degrees from the Akademie
Mozarteum in Salzburg where he was awarded the Lilli Lehmann Medallion from the
Internationale Stiftung Mozarteum. Completing his education in musicology at Cornell
University, Swenson received a Ph.D. with a thesis on the Italian composer Antonio
Salieri. Swenson is a member of the American Musical
Intrument Society, American
Musicological Society, The Southeastern Historical Keyboard Society,
and The Piano Technicians Guild.
